ZAMBIA
Safaris
in Zambia, honeymoons in Zambia or any special holiday in Zambia,
as one of the leading experts on safaris in Zambia we at Zambia Explored will be very
pleased to prepare your ideal tailor-made itinerary for you.
A safari in
Zambia offers you the opportunity of getting well off the beaten
track, I know it is a well used cliche but if you want a true
wilderness experience with great game viewing, highly knowledgeable
guides staying in very good accommodation this is the place to
head for.
The South Luangwa
National Park in northern Zambia is one of the few places in
Africa you can go on safari and do night drives seeking out nocturnal
creatures with the aid of a spotlight. They also offer walking
safaris tracking through the bush led by a knowledgeable guide
and escorted by an armed ranger. If you truly want to get away
from it all then head for the North Luangwa National Park where
the visitors each year are counted in their hundreds. While staying
at Kutandala there are a maximum of 6 guests but when walking
out in the bush you can meet up with a herd of buffalo numbering
a thousand strong. But remember the camp is only open from June
to October.
The Busanga
Plains in Kafue National Park in the north west of Zambia is
an area very much underrated. For six months of the year much
of the area is unaccessible because of the flooded plains but
when it starts to dry out there are thousands of lechwe grazing
on the plains with puku and other antelope species to be seen.
Large prides of lion and solitary leopards and cheetahs are the
prime predators you will find here. Busanga Bush Camp only accommodates
a maximum of 8 guests and is a great experience but you must
be prepared to have your day governed by the wildlife - meal
times and sleep times are flexible - if there is wildlife activity
then you are up and away to see it as the guides are real enthusiasts.
Down on the
banks of the mighty Zambezi River in the Zambezi valley it is
beautiful to just sit on the river bank watch the river flow
by and see the elephants come down to bathe before fording across
to an island or crossing onto the far bank. Here life falls into
perspective when you learn the true meaning of time. Game drives,
walks in the bush and travel on the river by boat or canoe exploring
the hidden creeks,- these activities are all there if you can
stir yourself from the comfort of your spot on the river bank.
Staying at Chiawa ladies can be pampered at the spa while Sausage
Tree Camp offers a private butler service with each tent.
Not many travel
to Zambia which is both a good and bad thing - good for you as
you will be one among a small select group of people but bad
for those working there who would like more travellers, so maybe
it is best to visit now while it is still undiscovered.
